Tampa Bay Lightning Trade Deadline

The Tampa Bay Lightning are making moves towards the NHL Trade Deadline but could it be moves in the wrong direction? The Lightning have trading goalie and pending unrestricted free agent Ben Bishop to the LA Kings for Peter Budaj and a prospect. They also traded F Brian Boyle to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Could Tyler Johnson be next? I honestly feel that the Lightning should be buyers not sellers in this year's trade deadline as they are below average this year after making the Eastern Conference Finals last year and the Stanley Cup Finals the year before. In my opinion GM Steve Yzerman is on the hotseat and won't get off it unless he makes a big move as a buyer during this year's trade deadline. Many injuries have also hurt the Lightning with Steven Stamkos out and Callahan done for the year it looks like this might be just the start of a decline for this Tampa Bay Lightning team.

The Miami Heat Weekend Games

Image result for miami heat
The Miami Heat have had a pair of games this weekend and won both against the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers. In the Heat's first game on Saturday night against the Hawks they had a season high 17 3 pointers made. The amazing duo of Dragic and Waiters got a combined point total of 31 points and 13 assists. Getting them a 108-90 win in their first game back from the all star break. In the Heat's second game back from the All Star break the duo had another great game combining for 43 points and 7 assists giving them a 113-95 win and a 2 game win streak since the All Star break. This is a team who is in the 9th spot in the Eastern conference trying to overtake the Detriot Pistons for the 8th spot in the playoffs. The Pistons next game is against the Boston Celtics where the the Celtics are favored so if the Heat can win one they should be able to get into that 8th spot.

Demarcus Cousins traded to the Pelican
The Sacramento Kings have aggreed to trade Demarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans for rookie shooting guard Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and  a 2017 first round pick and a 2017 second rounder. This means many things for both teams. With the new CBA changing the ways the palyers can now sign an extension up to 5 years one year until his contract expires. Demarcus could be looing for big money as in free agency he can score a deal up to $209 million for 5 years but he could only do that with the Kings making him uneligible for the big money he was hoping for. With the Pelicans GM on the hot seat this move could mean alot for him and his place in the franchise.

Can Anyone Stop the Washington Capitals
Image result for tom gilbertThe Washongton Capitals are arguably hockey's hottest team right now. Alex Ovechkin is leading the team with 26 goals this season as the Capitals are currently on a 6 game win streak entering its bye week. It will be interesting to see how they do coming out of it, They also recently swapped conditional picks to acquire Kings D Tom Gilbert who could be a pretty good addition to the team.
Another team that has been hot of late in the NHL are the Minnesota Wild. The Wild are ranked 4th as a team in goals per game yet they don't have an individual who's top 15 in scoring. This year has been a good one so far for the Wild you are on track for their 1st ever Stanley Cup in franchise history.

NBA Power Rankings
Image result for golden state warriors
With Valentine's Day coming up let's find out who the NBA experts love and hate in the new NBA Power Ranking. The Nets are ranked at number 30 witha 9-45 record. There is alot going on with this team like only having one main man on the team in Brook Lopez and they are currently on a 12 game losing streak and have won 1 game in their last 24 contests. At the top still remains the Golden State Warriors who crushed Kd's old team in KD's return to OKC even though Russ did get a triple double. This is a streaking team that there are very few teams who can beat. One of the biggest NBA lovers though the Miami Heat moving up to number 10 after losing to the 76ers ending a 13 game win streak which was probably one of the greatest you will see al season. Well that is my review of the NBA Power Rankings thank you all for reading my blog and enjoy the rest of your night

Miami Heat Win Streak
The Miami Heat's winning streak comes to an end tonight as they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers. The final score was 117-109 even with the Heat's leading scorer being Goran Dragic with 30 points but they were missing their 2nd leading scorer in Dion Waiters due to injury. The Heat did put up a fight against a Philadelphia team who was missing Joel Embiid and their leading scorer being Robert Covington with only 19 points. Overall it was a hard faught game by a Miami Heat team who has gone on a great run on this 13 game win streak.

Head Coaching Changes Around The NFL
The San Francisco 49er have hired ex Falcons Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan to be their head coach. Replacing him in Atlanta will be former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. The Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Richard Smith resigned from his role as the defensive coordinator after there embarassing defensive collapse against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51.

Image result for steve sarkisianTwo potential canadidates are Falcons defensive backs coach Marquand Manuel or linebackers coach Jeff Ulbrich. Falcons defensive line coach Bryan Cox was let go by the team earlier this week. The Atlanta Falcons are making defensive moves after their crushing defeat in Super Bowl 51 blowing a 28-9 and letting up 25 unanswered points by the New England Patriots. On the offensive side I belive Steve Sarkisian will be a great fit as he did help with Lane Kiffin in turning a freshman quarterback in Jalen Hurts into a championship caliber quarterback.

Thanks everyone for the support, Alex Mesa

Hi reader today I a going to talk about the Super Bowl. What A Game It Was!!! The Falcons were up big up 21-3 at the half. The Patriots pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in Super Bowl history and it was the first Super Bowl to ever go into overtime. The Falcons were able to shut down Brady and the Patriots in the first half but the defense started to choke in the 2nd half and Brady took advantage.
Image result for Tom brady holding trophy                 Most fans would have thought this was over once it was 21-0 after the pick 6 but loyal Patriot fans stayed till the end to watch their team pull off the greatest comeback of all time. For Falcon fans all you can take away are positives from Matt Ryan and Julio with some heroic plays trying to save the game but their is nothing you can do if your defense begins to collapse. Kyle Shanahan is sure to take the head coaching position of the 49ers and leaving the Falcons with a new offensive coordinator. If I were the Falcons I would stay in house as you saw your franchise quarterback Matt Ryan strive with the offense. Thank you to everyone for reading my blog and have a good day. :)

Hi reader it's Alex Mesa again and I will be talking about Isaiah Thomas' 38pt game against the LA Lakers last night. Isaiah Thomas was 2 pts away from being the only Celtic to every score 40pts in 3 consecutive games. The Celtics went on to win 113-107 in a sold out TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics haven't got all of Boston's fans attention with the Super Bowl being tomorrow but they soon will as this team is now 2nd in the Eastern Conference and on the verge of passing the Cavaliers for first.

Image result for isaiah thomasThomas is definetly in the run for MVP and the fans think so to because as Isaiah was shooting free throws the crowd was indeed chanting MVP. Along with Thomas' 38pts he also got 4 assists helping his team scoring in other ways. This is a man who is on a mission helping the Celtics to get their 18th Chmapionship in this franchiise's historic history. Also last night was a battle of the 2 most winnigest franchises with the Celtics coming off with a win making them the winnigest franchise in NBA history. Thank you again for reading my blog it means alot.

Hello today I'm Alex Mesa back again to do a Super Bowl prediction . I believe the Falcons will surprise everyone and win Super Bowl 51. I believe that even though the Patriots were able to stop Antonio Brown I believe Julio Jones is a completely different reciever. Malcom Butler must be careful what he wishes for as he wished to one day match up against Julio Jones well my friend now you have it and I believe that Julio Jones will have a heck of a game. I also believe that they will be able to have a balanced offense with a nice running attack with Devonte Freeman and Tevin Coleman who will both have a great game against the #1 ranked defense for the New England Patriots.

I believe on the other side Tom Brady will have a great day as well over the air but I think the consistency will not be enough to match Matt Ryan and his amazing recieving core. But I highly doubt that there will be a lack of offense in this game with both teams having amazing recieving cores and 2 durable running backs. The Falcons recieving core includes but doesn't limit to Julio Jones, Taylor Gabriel, and Mohamed Sanu. The Patriots have a recieving core of once again including but not limited to Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola, and Martellus Bennet.

All in all, I believe the Falcons high powered #1 ranked offense will be to much for the #1 defense of the Patriots and the Falcons will come ontop with a final score of 31-24 Falcons. Thank you everyone who has been consistently reading my blogs like my great friend Roly appreciate people like you feel free to comment thanks :)

Hi guys I'm back today to talk about the NFL Pro Bowl. They returned to the original AFC vs NFC format and boy was it a game. Travis Kelce TE for the KC Chiefs won offensive MVP and Lorenzo Alexander LB for the Buffalo Bills won defensive MVP as the AFC won the game 20-13 with the main passer being Andy Dalton going 10-12 100yds 1TD and threw an INT passing the ball. The main rusher for the AFC was Jay Ajayi who has had a phenominal season leading the Dolphins to their first playoof appearance since 2008. He rushed 7 times getting 18yds rushing in last nights game. It was a very enjoyable game and fun to watch the players do risky plays without anything on the line. Thank you for reading this blog it is greatly appreciated.
